She steps out into the sunlight

One foot at a time,

like a bride parading down the aisle.

Observe her highness as she regards her surroundings,

chin held high, nostrils twitching.

demurely closing her lids to the piercing rays of morning.

Warmth.

She surrenders immediately

to the sunlit patch of peace.

Sprawling unabashedly onto her back,

settling sideways,

legs lax,

paws splayed in stretch.

Catabandon.
